Using Google Website Optimizer To Increase Conversions!

So stinkin’ cool. I put off using the new website optimizer in Google Adwords for a while, simply because I didn’t have a whole lot of time on my hands..

But man, oh man, was I missing out!

I admit, I’m still testing my first three variations within my campaign but it was SO easy to use.

I have always had trouble knowing when I had a clear-cut winner amongst my different headlines, pages, etc… But, with the Adwords Website Optimizer, it tells me exactly when a ‘high-confidence’ winner has been selected and then all I have to do is start a new test!

In this first run, I have one headline on my site that is outperforming my original by over 20%!

For a half hour of work putting a few code snippets in place, its totally worth the time.

I could really see myself doubling my overall ROI by using this tool, and I’m only using the basic version so far! (there is an advanced version that allows you to edit and test more variables throughout the page…)

Okay, just wanted to share my excitement! Adios!

MLM Lead Generation Using PPC…

Okay, PPC can be incredibly costly and difficult if done wrong. I have spent over 100k using Adwords both personally and in cooperative advertising ventures and have learned a LOT along the way.

In this post, I want to provide some simple, tangible steps that you can introduce to get your marketing efforts off the ground without breaking the bank.

Get Your Sales Funnel In Place!

First off… You need to have at least a semi-efficient sales funnel in place for your opportunity. If you are unfamiliar with this concept, then I suggest you check out this post on sales funnels.

Without an effective funnel in place to ‘re-coop’ some of your advertising dollars, it’s very difficult to have a ‘win’ out of the gates.

Use Some Common Sense Keywords

Next… Use your common sense and best intuition to come up with 10 separate keyword phrases to initially setup your campaign. Often times people get bogged down using keyword tools, and going after generic terms like ‘home business’ that are extremely difficult to rank/place ads for effectively.

Start simple and use your brain to come up with original terms to get in the head of your prospective visitor. Think about their emotional ties, their frustrations, and their financial challenges that might be spurring their search for your services.

If you can focus your campaigns and advertising dollars around longtail phrases such as “need a new job”, “financial help after divorce”, and “business to run as part time mom”, you will have much better success than using over-competitive and ineffective phrases suggested by most keyword tools.

Use What Works!

Being that you’re only starting with 10 keyword phrases, you might as well find out what’s working to attract these visitors and work upwards from there! So, grab your keywords (which you hopefully came up with on your own) and type them into Google. Once you do, you’ll see that there are probably at least a couple of ads that immediately catch your attention. Now, ask yourself WHY they catch your attention!

Is it because those ads use the keyword in it’s entirety and consequently, Google has ‘bolded’ the phrase? Or, is it because the ad copy pulls an emotional string related to your finances, love, discovery, etc…? Whatever it might be, use it to your advantage when crafting your ad. If it’s not broke.. don’t fix it. The advertisers in these positions are likely paying a lot of money to advertise here, so it is most likely working for them!

Using PPC to create masses of new leads for your business can be quite simple if the right techniques are employed. If you have questions, please post them below! :)

Attracting The “RIGHT” Leads To Your MLM

Attracting leads to your MLM is one of the most important activities with regard to growing your business. However, the leads are only going to benefit you if they’re sincere and truly interested in your business.

So… How do you attract the ‘right’ leads to your MLM?

People want to make money and are always looking for ways to earn more and work less. When you tell them this is exactly what they can do if they become part of your MLM, they’ll be knocking at your door and have your phone ringing off the wall.

The key for your success will be finding which ones are the right leads. Don’t assume that everyone that expresses interest in your MLM is actually going to be an asset.

Make a list of questions you want to ask potential customers. How eagerly they answer will play a large part in helping you to decide if they have what it takes to sell your product, promote your business and recruit others.

If they’re not able to communicate effectively with you, how will they ever recruit others?

Find out what they know about running a business. Have they ever owned a business? What kind of business experience do they possess? You’ll also want to know how much time they have to invest in your business.

Is this going to be a full-time venture for them or something they do here and there in their spare time? Go with your instincts. If they don’t seem like they’d be a good marketer, don’t waste your time or their time. Tell them you don’t think they’re right for your company.

When you’re done talking with them, you’ll have a general idea of if they’re someone that you want in your MLM and if they’ll be an asset to your company.

Once you’ve interviewed several potential customers, you’ll be able to compare the answers and know which leads are the ones you want on your team.

Simple Funnels… Build Your Opportunity NOW.

This is something that I’ve been thinking about over the past couple weeks…

And, that is, how EASY it is to build a massive organization in an opportunity with a simple opportunity funnel.

I know that might sound crazy. I can remember just a few years ago thinking the exact opposite, and struggling to sponsor one person in my opportunity.

Now, it seems SO easy. The following four steps will give you an idea of how to setup a simple funnel that will have prospects begging to join your business.

Lead Capture Page:

You want to capture your audience IMMEDIATELY with a good HEADLINE, and then get them to move forward within your funnel. Use striking images, make bold statements, and above all – KEEP IT SIMPLE.

Look at my lead capture page at HomePartyMillionaires.com for an example of how ridiculously bad a site can look and convert really well.

More Info Page:

You’ll read lots of experts talking about a sales page here, and that’s absolutely a great way to market. However, for many of you out there, you’re just trying to find some interested prospects for your opportunity.

Personally, I think simply having a second page here with LOTS of company specific information will do the job just fine. And, providing your contact information, an email form, or a second opt-in form to learn more on this page will accomplish a lot of your pre-screening for you.

We have found that for our specific opportunities, we can ‘close’ almost 50% of the persons who opt-in for more information from this “MORE INFO PAGE”.

Funded Proposal:

Okay, you might know what this phrase means, you might not. But essentially, it means that you NEED to capitalize on these people who are very interested by re-cooping some of your expenses. This means that you just have to make a limited time, special offer to this small sub-set of interested prospects.

So, offer these people a DVD about your opp, a trial of your product, or even a training manual that you wrote for $10. The bottom line is that advertising is EXPENSIVE and traffic is VALUABLE. And, you really can’t let it go to waste.

Drive Traffic:

This is a monster of a topic. But, we all know if you want to start getting prospects and new reps into your business you NEED traffic.

I know what you might be thinking here… Traffic is expensive. YUP!

But, the great aspect of the funnel you just setup is that you can now advertise for practically nothing! How?

Well, just to paint you a picture of how this works… If I spend $200 on advertising toward any of the funnels I’m currently using, I will likely get at least 300 visitors, 50 email opt-ins, 10 really interested prospects, and at least a handful that will join my business!

I don’t know about your business, but in any of mine, a few new reps MORE than pays for the $200 I just spent on advertising.

I hope that all made sense, it’s by no means a comprehensive few of sales funnels. But, its enough to get you on the right track so you can pay that web developer to get your simple funnel in action! ;)

Time to blog.

I never really used to think I had anything valuable that I could add to really warrant writing my own personal blog…  Now, I’m kind of thinking that its time to do this.

Over the past couple years, I’ve learned how to make a  pretty good living using AdWords, Clickbank, and in MLM, and it was all basically independent of each other.

So, I think I probably have some information that other people might want to learn as well.   Hope you enjoy.
