Happy New Year Brandon! You’ve been banned from Facebook!
Well, it’s official. I made my rebuttal a few days ago, and apparently I abused the system far too much for any type of reconsideration.
Here’s Facebook’s official response. I thought it was a bit harsh.
Hi Brandon,
Facebook will not tolerate behavior that users may find annoying or abusive, or that violates our Terms of Use or Advertising Guidelines. You have used your account to submit ads that are explicitly prohibited by our ad policies. As a result, your account has been permanently disabled.
We will not be able to reactivate your account, nor will you be able to recover any content within the account. You will also not be permitted to create a new account to restart your Facebook advertising. This decision is final.
Thank you for your understanding,
Blake
Risk Management
I had been running ads with Facebook to promote my wife and I’s business, using the site WrapGirlsParty.com, had spent about 50k over the past year and had hundreds of ads approved.
So, if there was something that was explicity prohibited, they did an awful job catching it.
What bothers me, is to this day, I’ve never really known WHY any of my ads were approved and others were rejected. I used a picture of my wife in most ads, and my titles and ads were very relevant to the service being promoted. I also declared what happened on the landing page, and told the user exactly what we’d do with their information.
If it’s simply because it’s a home business, that’s just lame, but at least if they told me that, I’d understand.
And, if it’s simply because I submitted ads that were rejected, over and over, it’s because it worked, and they gave me no reasonable feedback to aide me in changing the ad.
All that being said, I’m excited to try out some new advertising methods in 2012, and being that Facebook hired a lot of X-Google Advertising Execs, I knew this day was coming soon!
Anyone else get banned?
